About Me
From a young age, music has been a passion of mine. Some of my earliest memories are of dancing around the living room with my family, listening to my dad sing his favorite childhood songs. At the age of four, I began taking piano lessons and discovered my love for making music. By the time I started 3rd grade at eight years old, I had taken up the French Horn, participating in various groups, including my school's band and the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County (YOBC). At ten, I began vocal lessons and joined the Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association (PMEA) district choir. Throughout middle school, I continued to play the French Horn and expanded my vocal abilities by performing in every school musical.
When Covid-19 caused the world to shut down, I decided to change my musical focus. I set aside the French Horn and delved deeper into piano music, learning intricate renditions of movie themes and popular songs, from "Portals" from Avengers: Endgame to Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer." My family even started our own band: the Bandemics! It was during this challenging time that I truly began to appreciate the transformative power of music. Amidst the uncertainty and difficulties of the pandemic, our musical collaboration brought my family closer together providing countless hours of joy and comfort. The Bandemics became a beacon of hope, reminding us of the resilience and happiness that music can bring, even in the toughest times.
Throughout high school, I joined all of my school's music groups, from the jazz band to Chorale (the school's selective choir). I began learning guitar during my sophomore year and picked up the drums in my junior year to play a few songs for one of the ensembles. Besides singing in the choirs, I also accompany them on the piano. In my junior year, I arranged a Taylor Swift medley for the group to sing at the spring concert. I have participated in all the musicals and two non-musical school plays since starting high school, cherishing every opportunity to perform onstage. For my senior year, I was elected by my peers to serve as president of both the Orchestra and Mercy Melismatics (Gwynedd's a cappella group).
I love all aspects of music - performing it, arranging it, composing it. It is an integral part of my past, and I am eager to continue my musical journey to see where it brings me in the future. I look forward to bringing the joy of music to others.
